About Us

Our Story
From seeds to blooms
After falling in love with developing and delivering group programs in private practice, Angela decided to nurture this love by building a practice dedicated to group based services.
Inner Bloom Psychology Services was created to nurture personal growth, build connections and empower others through education, compassion and understanding. It's our mission to deliver services that focus on safety, learning and connection.
Growing up in regional and rural CQ, Angela understands just how difficult it is to access supports outside of major cities. This understanding sparked a vision to not only offer online groups, but to create meaningful, high quality, evidence-based online programs that can be accessed anywhere, any time.

Our Values
Our values do more than simply guide how we choose to operate - they give language to the beliefs and concepts that we hold true at our very core. It's our mission to make sure that you receive care that is professional, compassionate and person-centred, while we provide you with support that is both highly clinical and deeply human.

Our Focus
Who we help and what we help with
All services and products that we offer here at Inner Bloom are based on the areas of practice that we're the most passionate about. We firmly believe that the best outcomes are achieved when your therapist is not only skilled at what they do, but genuinely loves the work they're doing. That's why Angela channels her energy into creating services, events, courses and content that she is truly, deeply passionate about.
We're most passionate about:
-
Creating a safe environment that celebrates diversity, autonomy and individuality, while delivering services grounded in trauma informed, culturally sensitive and neurodiverse affirming approaches.
-
Helping individuals to better understand and accept themselves, build self-confidence and practice self-compassion.
-
Supporting you to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and helping you create a toolbox full of skills and strategies.
-
Creating a safe, gentle, non-judgemental space for parents and carers to feel seen, held, supported and resourced.
-
Empowering individuals to communicate assertively, set and hold healthy boundaries, find their voice and engage in healthy relationships.
-
Providing opportunities for community members to meet, connect, build relationships and relate to one another.
-
Handing you the knowledge and tools to identify, prevent, manage and recover from Burnout of all varieties.
-
Educating, supporting, upskilling and resourcing our teachers, carers, community members and health care professionals.

Angela Newton
Registered Psychologist
B Psych (Hons), MAPS
As a neurodivergent woman, I crave the chaos, flexibility and autonomy that comes from being creative, while also acknowledging a need for structure and routines in order to thrive. As a psychologist, I've learned to find the harmony and strength between these two sides of myself and apply it to my practice; allowing me to deliver creative, flexible, and relatable care that is both highly clinical and deeply human.
Throughout my career, I've been lucky enough to develop my own group programs and workshops on a regular basis; and it was by doing this that I discovered a passion for providing support in flexible and accessible formats outside of traditional, individual therapy. Over time, that passion grew into a deeper desire to find even more ways to make mental health care accessible, and eventually, Inner Bloom was born.
Inner Bloom's core values are a direct reflection of what I value as a practitioner. It's my vision to nurture personal growth through the power of education, connection, compassion and understanding; and it's my mission to deliver services that are safe, inclusive, accessible and supportive.
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of connection, compassion and showing up authentically in the therapy space. I believe in the power of combining lived experience with clinical knowledge. And I believe in the power of healing, because I've experienced it firsthand.
Ensuring that my clients feel safe, held and heard is always my primary focus, and you can't feel safe, held or heard without connection and compassion from an authentic human being.
I pride myself on offering services that are trauma informed, culturally sensitive and neurodiverse affirming. I intentionally avoid over-planning or heavily scripting my services. Instead, I focus on a more organic delivery that allows greater room for collaboration, autonomy and mutual understanding.
When I'm not in my office, you'll typically find me down at the beach, curled up reading romantasy, head banging to heavy metal, working on my current craft fixation (before it is inevitably banished to the hobby graveyard), spending time with friends and family, moving my body, or living my best life indulging in lots of delicious food.
